It’s been a long and painful wait for those who revelled in La Roux and their 80s driven debut album back in 2009, but the wait is finally over.
It’s safe to say it’s been a tumultuous hiatus for Elly Jackson and co: after suffering from a series of anxiety attacks, followed then by the departure of long-time collaborator Ben Langmaid, an ominous silence surrounded the 26-year-old. Rumours were spread but never confirmed, leading to a growing suspicion that Jackson had dropped off the map, never to return.
Thankfully, this wasn’t the case. Returning this month with the aptly titled ‘Trouble in Paradise,’ Jackson has triumphed with another album that may well be the best pop album of 2014 so far. Take a listen to single 'Let Me Down' below and we’re sure you’ll agree, it was well worth the wait…
