Royal Fashion Show

As London is adorned with purple and gold flags the capital is all set for the celebrations next week to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen's coronation. There will be numerous events taking place although the main event will be a special service at Westminster Abbey on Tuesday. On top of these events there is an exhibition taking place at Buckingham Palace and this will showcase many original items that were involved in the historical event.

I think there'll be lots of interest in the spectacular cream satin dresses worn by the Queen's coronation maid of honours, the dresses are truly magnificant with lots of billowing satin and ornate gold embroidery. As well as these stunning dresses, the crown worn by the Queen on her way to the ceremony will be on public display, along with the gilded wood carriage used and the gold and ivory pen that Her Majesty the Queen signed her oath.

The exhibition will run from July 27 to September 29.
