With a litany of side projects behind him and Blur suspended indefinitely once more in some half-lit corner of his mind, Damon Albarn has finally found the time to focus on himself. This, believe it or not, is his first ever solo project.
Albarn, a musician renowned for being committed to his craft and uncompromising in his vision to create, was recently awarded the NME Award for Innovation. This alone attests to his restlessness and desire as a musician to explore new ground and develop a unique sound. Albarn’s influences span the globe, with his travels having seen him sweep and scour distant musical landscapes in an attempt to channel a diverse and culturally rich sound back into popular music.
Now, in a rare pocket of time, he’s delved within to create ‘his most soul-searching and autobiographical work yet.’ Having already released singles ‘Everyday Robots’ and ‘Lonely, Press Play’ to widespread critical acclaim, and recently announcing an appearance at Latitude Festival, anticipation is growing for the release of ‘Everyday Robots’ later this month…
Damon Albarn - Everyday Robots is due for release on 28th April
