Unless you have no social media presence at all it will have been almost impossible to have avoided something to do with Suicide Squad. It is the highly anticipated, and imminent film release from Warner Brothers in collaboration with DC Comics. This isn’t your normal Superhero film though……for these are Supervillains.
Set against a soundtrack of Sweet’s “Ballroom Blitz” and Grace’s cover of Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me,” the trailer only serves to up the ante surrounding this DC Comics franchise.
It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
Written and directed by David Ayer, and based on the characters from DC Comics, the film boasts an all-star cast including Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbake, and Cara Delevingne.
It is already tipped to be a smash hit at the box office, and make it’s way into the Top 10 Highest Grossing Films of 2016 on a list that already includes Superhero films Captain America: Civil War (currently at Number 1), Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice (at Number 4), Deadpool (at Number 5), and X-Men: Apocolypse (at Number 8).
The film hits our cinema screens on August 5th in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D, but you can see the latest trailer below, and for further information please check out the official website here.
