Ex Machina is an upcoming sci-fi thriller written and directed by Alex Garland and starring Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikander.
Caleb (Gleeson), a 24-year-old computer coder for the world’s largest internet firm, wins the chance to spend a week at the private mountain retreat of the company’s reclusive CEO, Nathan (Isaac), but upon arrival he finds that he will be participating in a strange and fascinating experiment. The experiment – spend the week interacting with and testing the consciousness of the world’s first true artificial intelligence robot which is housed in the body of a beautiful robot girl, Ava (Vikander).
Ava’s intelligence and seductive nature begin to draw Caleb in, but how long can he hold off, and who is now manipulating who?
