Out In Newcastle – The Great British Cupcakery

A couple of weeks ago we brought you a post about The Hop & Cleaver bar and eatery, and how Newcastle’s Quayside has been given a new lease of life over the past few years, to which it is now regarded as one of the best gastro-miles in the north of the country. And part of this revolution is a boutique bakehouse and parlour.

The Great British Cupcakery is a leading bespoke cake company passionate about creating edible works of art for special occasions including weddings, baby showers, christenings, birthday parties and corporate events.

The Great British Cupcakery was created with love by mother and daughters, Carole Golden, Leoni Avison and Naomi Carpenter after they traded careers in hospitality to pursue something a little sweeter … their passion for gourmet baking!
As lifelong bakers, Team GBC were inspired by their Grandmothers great British baking and decided to make their much loved hobby a full time career. The Great British Cupcakery hopes that their baked goods and sweet treats conjure up lovely memories of your own childhood or family!

Open daily serving freshly baked cupcakes, layer cakes and coveted confections, along with a delicious selection of sweet treats, sandwiches, artisan teas and coffees you can choose to eat in or take away.
The Great British Cupcakery can be found at 15 Queen Street on the Quayside, and for much more information please head on over to their website here.
