Northern Ireland is known for its golf, be it beautiful park land, courses or stunning links we are proud of our golfing heritage and are the home of champions such as major winners Darren Clarke, Graeme McDowell and former world number one, home grown hero Rory McIlroy.
One of Belfasts most beautiful and exclusive courses which attracts visitors from around the world is Royal Belfast Golf club.
Situated in the hills of Holywood, Co. Down and founded in 1881 it lays claim to the title of the oldest golf course in Ireland. The present course dates back to 1925, when responsibility for the course design and layout at the present location was given to H.S. Colt, the eminent English course architect of the day. With the assistance of Walker Cup player W.A. Murray, Colt produced a course of great charm which provides a true test of golfing skill and enjoys one of the most scenic settings of any in these islands with its unrivalled views of Belfast Lough and the Antrim plateau beyond.
Here's hoping we get a little last minute sunshine this weekend and can hit the course. It's a real favourite of Cruise Belfast staff and customers.
