The Mercedes-Benz Designed Yacht

Leading German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz have taken marine mobility to the next level by designing a limited number of luxury yachts. The Arrow460-Granturismo is sure to be the best looking thing on the open seas.

The Mercedes-Benz designers’ passion for new unseen designs has resulted in something unique indeed: a progressive and fascinating motor yacht that reflects the dynamic design of Mercedes-Benz which makes for luxury, style and pleasure on the water. A Silver Arrow of the seas, it features the charismatic design elements contained in the famous sports cars and these have been adapted to the specific requirements of a motor yacht in a way that communicates pure emotion.

At 14 metres long, the Granturismo yacht unites a highly aesthetic form with maritime innovations that have not been present in the boat industry until now.

Originally unveiled as a concept way back in 2012 (although plans were afoot way back in 2010) this new type of motor yacht was realised in close collaboration with the project partner, Silver Arrows Marine – whose team includes world-renowned marine architects responsible for some of the most capable and luxurious craft in the world today.

The yacht’s interior features an impressive and elegant ambience that provides a new level of style on board, and the valued comfort that only Mercedes-Benz offers. The yacht’s variable concept for spatial use also leaves its mark; the space can be flexibly adapted to the occasion – for day trips or staying on board overnight. A top-end boat that neither compromises on functionality nor on user-friendliness.

The boat is designed to accommodate up to 10 people at a time. The large side windows are retractable and the windscreen can be raised, which means that passengers can sit comfortably in the interior while enjoying an all-round view and the feeling of sitting in the open. Tables and beds are extendable, and therefore available as and when required. Further amenities of the final model include a luxurious bathroom unit, separate dressing room, air conditioning system, high-quality audio system, a “wine-cellar,” and an ice-making machine.

And naturally anything that’s made by Mercedes doesn’t hang about - the Granturismo maximum speed is 38 knotts.
