The stars of showbiz descended on Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre for the 87th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night, and here at Cruise we’ve been casting our votes on who should take home the top red carpet award of Best Dressed – here we give you our verdict…
Okay, so we couldn’t just pick one leading lady to take home the prize as the stars really upped there fashion game, strutting the red carpet in creations from Dior, Ellie Saab, Zuhair Murad and everything in between! Here we give you our top three best dressed of the night, do you agree?
1. Emma Stone – Elie Saab Couture
Emma Stone hit the red carpet wearing this amazing custom made Elie Saab Couture gown. The full beading and unique colour certainly made this look one of the most eye catching of the night. Our favourite part? That amazing side split showcasing those enviable pins, with matching Christian Louboutin sandals.
2. Jennifer Lopez – Elie Saab Couture
Wow, just wow. I think if we had to choose just one scarlet as our best dressed of the night, JLo would certainly win hands down. This Elie Saab Couture gown is flawless, with layers of romantic luminous tulle and intricate beading is styled perfectly with simple diamond drop earrings and a sleek ponytail. The deep V-neck suited the look perfectly adding a little sex appeal to this girly princess gown.
3. Julianne Moore – Chanel
She won the Oscar for Best Actress and certainly made a statement in a custom Chanel gown on the red carpet. Covered in white sequins adorned with black and white sequin rosettes, Julianne Moore looked every inch the leading lady. The fitted silhouette suited her perfectly and the sleek chignon and diamond Chopard jewels were the ideal accessory.
Whilst our A-List women certainly turned heads, so did the leading men looking impeccable in an array of tuxedos in every shade and material known to man – some better than others we might add! But for us, Selma star David Oyelowo stole the show. Wearing an incredible three piece Dolce and Gabbana suit in a deep wine red, David styled with a crisp white shirt and matching silk red bow tie, showing all the gents exactly how to rock at the Oscars.
