Set in Athens, Greece in the 1960s, The Two Faces of January is a story of conman Chester MacFarland (Viggo Mortensen), his glamorous wife Colette (Kirsten Dunst) and a devious young tour guide and scam artist, Rydal (Oscar Isaac).
Chester quickly cottons on to Rydal’s scheming ways and after inviting him to dinner, it is not long before Rydal is trapped in a dangerous orbit of the darker side of the MacFarlands . This is not helped by Rydal’s infatuation with Colette though, and he runs the risk of provoking Chester’s ire.
The Two Faces of January is the big screen adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s classic thriller novel of the same name and is out in cinemas nationwide now.
