Remember it isn't always the clothes that create the mood on the runway, hair and beauty always play a key part. We were intrigued to find out the inspirations behind each vital part of the finished look for the Vivienne Westwood Red Label AW15/16 collection.
HAIR
Mark Hampton - Global Hair Ambassador for Toni & Guy - developed two characters for the show; a boy and a girl.
The male style was heavily inspired by the fifties, hair pieces and twists made for a more dramatic shape. The female look drew inspiration from the punk era, portraying a girl who has done her own hair and wore it however she wanted. Notice that each girl is that little bit different and slightly individual.
MAKE-UP
Val Garland - MAC Cosmetics - took control of this interesting adventure through beauty. The theme for Val Garland's make-up was abstract art, each model was treated as a blank canvas. Focusing on using two colours - red and black - the method was about taking on an artistic approach to painting the face with free will.
NAILS
Marian Newman - MAC Cosmetics - showed that nails don't always have to directly relate to the collection. The team were set on creating animal like claws for each model. Varying in style but keeping an obvious theme, nails were extremely long and square, either bone coloured or blended black and finished with a nicotine like stain.
