Eating Out: Tattu

The vision of two brothers to create a sophisticated, modern and luxurious take on Chinese delicacies has resulted in the perfect marriage of food and setting in one of the most extraordinary venues. Welcome to Tattu.

The brain child of brothers Adam and Drew Jones Tattu takes inspiration from body art and its rich history, inviting guests on a sensory journey from East to West, delivering a unique experience unlike any other.

Located in the heart of Manchester’s Spinningfields district, the restaurant offers contemporary Chinese cuisine, fusing traditional Asian flavours with exquisite presentation delivered by the head chef, Clifton Muil, and his talented team.

The bar provides an intimate atmosphere, inviting guests to relax and enjoy the extensive cocktail menu.  Each one of their diverse cocktails is inspired by the designs of different body artists with their own unique styles and unusual flavour combinations.  A detailed wine list and bottle serve menu is also available.

Upstairs is the main 94-seat restaurant with the truly stunning and spectacular 4-metre high cherry blossom tree at the heart of it.  It’s actually a real tree too – it’s been dried out, and has cherry blossom petals painstakingly hand-twined on to each branch of the huge centerpiece that hangs over stylish black booth seating.
There is also ornate black fret screening giving an oriental feel, skyscraper pendant lighting, and the roof of the venue is lavished with hand-twined ropework.
Again all of those design elements are an homage to traditional tattoos - giving an almost maritime feel on the ground floor with the ships, anchors and rope details.

Downstairs is the Parlour is Tattu’s dining room and exclusive event space. They are able to accommodate up to 40 people for a fine dining experience or 80 for a party or canapé reception. The space is serviced by its own entrance, bar and restroom facilities.
The luxurious aesthetic and unique interior provides the perfect setting for exclusive events, functions and meetings and we’re able to provide a variety of entertainment including live acts and DJs upon request.

Also downstairs (on ground level) Tattu’s bar and ‘Rose Garden’ provides a beautiful backdrop to enjoy the delicious range of unique cocktails.  They also provide a wide variety of beers, wines and bottle serves.
Adorned with intricate rope effect lighting, glass skull globes and in the main windows hang two huge anchors adorned with lighting and roses, not to mention bespoke leather seating has been jetted in from New York it really is an idyllic setting.
Booths and tables are available to hire for up to 10 people, and the bar also has a variety of live musicians and DJs entertaining guests from 8pm Thursday – Saturday.
