In an industry so closely associated with transient success, Paul Smith's achievement is all the more remarkable. Having racked up an astonishing 40 years, a veteran he certainly is; however, to assume Mr.Smith has survived those four tempestuous decades by playing it safe would be foolish. His collections have been admired and revered all over the world for evincing unique and innovative design of the highest quality.
So, needless to say, it's for these very reasons that the London Design Museum is hosting a celebration of his services to our good selves and the industry. 'My Name Is Paul Smith' will include classics from his 40 years of collections and offer an illuminating insight into the personality and eccentricities of the man himself. Not just a display of his greatest fashion hits, the show will also 'explore a year in the different stages of design, production and marketing' (Telegraph) behind the designer's catwalk collections.
If you're a fan, this should certainly not be missed....
