We excitedly introduce the brand new Versus Versace SS17 Collection.
After Versus first teased us with their SS17 ad campaign on Instagram last week, using blurry behind the scenes video from the shoot, we now see the launch of the visuals.
The campaign featuring Zayn Malik and model of the moment Adwoa Aboah was shot by Zayn’s girlfriend Gigi Hadid using her mobile phone and digital cameras. Aboah and Malik were photographed sprawled out and ambling around the hotel suite wearing Versus signature black leather jackets, ripped jeans, body-conscious knits and well, not a lot else.
It was in a change of events that Gigi was behind the camera, the sexy photo shoot took place at the Chateau Marmont.
"The Versus campaign captures everything that is special about Zayn, Gigi, and Adwoa," Donatella Versace said in a statement released by the brand today. "They are young people who define the mood of their generation with their honesty, energy, and their love."
It’s no secret that Donatella Versace is a fan of Gigi Hadid. She’s her “favourite model, as you all know,” the designer said before her AW17 Versus show in London the other week – and now she’s let the model turn photographer, lensing the SS17 campaign for the brand.
This won’t be Hadid’s last photography gig either. Earlier this week it was announced that the model will be shooting for V magazine’s summer 2017 issue. Malik, for his will be designing a capsule collection for Versus Versace, which will be revealed in June and immediately available for purchase.
Hadid and Mailk have a history with the label. She has walked in several shows, while he has an upcoming special collection that will be released in June.
"It was so sick to work with Versus. Dontella is a G," Malik says. "It was extra special that Gigi shot the campaign."
And Aboah, well, she’s killing it with her nonprofit Gurls Talk, which provides young women with a platform to tell intimate stories about their experiences. Multi-hyphenates, these three sure are.
