The Palazzo Versace Hotel in Dubai

If you’re a company building a hotel and had run 7 years over the completion date then there’s a fair chance your finances might have taken a considerable hit, however if that company turns out to be leading fashion brand Versace then you tend to not worry too much.

The Palazzo Versace Hotel in Dubai finally opened its doors last month – almost a decade after work on the project began, that was earmarked to be finished in 2008.

The hotel is part of the Versace Cultural Village, which is less than 15 minutes away from Dubai International Airport and 8 minutes away from Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai. Palazzo Versace Dubai is conveniently located along the shores of the historic Dubai Creek, and includes 8 restaurants, spa, 169 condominium residences and penthouses, 150 hotel rooms and 65 suites. It uses public spaces designed to showcase art, sculpture and other artifacts. These spaces come complete with beautiful landscaped gardens and grounds with promenades, terraces, water features, reflection pools and fountains that complement the serenity of the lush gardens that surround the hotel – a true luxury retreat for leisure travellers.

And with the artistic director being Donatella Versace herself you can be assured that it has been built in line with her maximalist aesthetic. With ceilings that have been hand-detailed in gold, combined with the finest mosaics and tiles imaginable, the Palazzo Versace’s interiors are a physical representation of the brand’s opulent lifestyle, depicted through Donatella’s eyes. The grand lobby features a 1000-square-meter mosaic marble floor while the walls are covered in a special edition of the iconic jungle print from Versace’s wallpaper collection.

The Palazzo Versace is the second hotel in the franchise, which made its debut in the hospitality game 15 years ago on Australia’s Gold Coast, and the company announce a couple of years ago that a third hotel is earmarked for Macau.
