Another new addition the the Concept roster this autumn/winter is American Streetwear giants Black Scale, returning with another enticing line that toys with somber, Gothic sensibilities with riffs of rejuvenation and energy. Titled “Life and Beauty” the lookbook explores the concept of beauty amid life and death. While the usual use of paisley, stained glass patterns, and religious symbols are employed via its dynamic onslaught of graphic prints, snakeskin and leopard prints adorn varsity jackets and pullovers. Meanwhile, Black Scale’s satirical stars and stripes logo is featured on sweatshirts and hoodies, while the exploration of multicolored camouflage and the Mona Lisa holds undertones of grace and restoration that further punctuates the collection.
