‘Marriage can be a real killer’
One of the most critically acclaimed suspense writers of our time and New York Times best seller, Gillian Flynn has her devilishly dark novel of psychopathy transformed into one of 2014’s most hotly anticipated motion pictures.
Director David Fincher has conducted a cinematic project firmly in dramatic thriller territory. The story is focused on the seemingly idyllic marriage of Nick (Ben Affleck) and Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) which has gone terribly wrong in the aftermath of the disappearance of Nick’s wife. Under the growing pressure of the police and the media, the oddly eluding Nick finds himself under the spotlight of suspicion.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in January, Flynn revealed that the film boasts a ‘drastically’ altered ending. Fans of the novel can be assured that the film will retain the ‘mood, tone and spirit’ of the book.
Gone Girl hits cinema screens in the UK on 3rd November 2014, check out the trailer below.
