After what has been a hugely successful 2016 so far for Superhero movies on the big screen and at the box office, Netflix are hoping for more of the same when the 12-part Marvel series Luke Cage debuts later this month. Take a look at the trailer.
After a troubled upbringing Carl Lucas appears to have turn his life around, only to be set up by his best friend and consequently wrongfully sent to prison. Whilst in prison he has frequent run ins with fellow prisoners and guards alike. He does however volunteer for a an experimental call regeneration experiment, but when the experiment is sabotaged it leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (as he is now known) becomes a fugitive who attempts to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. Soon however he is pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
This will be the third Marvel Superhero web tv series to hit Netflix with the previous ones released to great success being Jessica Jones, and Daredevil (which has already ran a second season), and as with those Netflix are choosing the bold move to release ever episode on the same day instead of a weekly format, so you can really binge watch if you so wish.
And if you still haven’t got you Marvel fill then next series will be along in early 2017 with the Superhero series Iron Fist, with the final plan being a Defenders mini series that will crossover with all 4 characters being involved.
The Luke Cage series gets released on September 30th on Netflix, but you can see the latest trailer for it below.
