Morrissey, one of the most iconic figures in British music over the past 20 years, has set a release date for his decennial studio album World Peace Is None of Your Business.
The former Smiths singer has also released videos for two singles from the album which is due out out in the UK on 15 July 2014 – spoken word versions of the lead single World Peace Is None of Your Business (which features an appearance from Nancy Sinatra) and Istanbul.
A third video for the song The Bullfighter Dies has also been posted online, following on with the spoken word vibe of the album’s first two singles.
The twelve track LP - for which you can see the artwork below - was recorded in France earlier this year by Joe Chiccarelli who has previously worked with White Stripes, Beck and The Strokes - a fair pedigree by any standards.
In typical Morrissey fashion his latest album features some rather cynical song titles, such as Earth Is The Loneliest Planet and Kick the Bride Down the Aisle – but it probably wouldn’t be a Moz album without a few.
The often-controversial singer also released his autobiography – cleverly titled Autobiography – in October last year which shot to number one in UK book charts, selling 35,000 copies in its first week.
You can watch the video for lead single World Peace Is None of Your Business and pre-order the album on iTunes.
