The 727 Fuselage Home

If you are one of those people who finds it incredibly hard to go sleep on a plane we might just have found the answer. It’ll probably cost less than some flights normally would, and you are always guaranteed great view. Leg room isn’t a problem either. You depart from Costa Rica, and arrive in no time at all in……well……Costa Rica. Welcome to the 727 Fuselage Home.

It is part of the Costa Verde resort and is located on the edge of the Manuel Antonio National Park, perched on a custom-built platform 50 feet up from the ground.

Airplane enthusiasts can have full run of the two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite which also includes a kitchenette, flat-screen tvs, and a dining room.

It’s guests are able to enjoy scenic ocean and jungle views both from the airplane windows and the handcrafted observation deck which has been built atop its wings.

The inside of the jumbo jet is furnished with hand-carved, locally harvested teak panelling from the cockpit to the tail of the plane.

The 1965 Boeing plane was actually saved from the scrap heap at San Jose International Airport where is was used primarily by Colombia Avianca Airlines. The 40,000 rivets that were holding the plane together were then removed, and it was then transported in pieces by five trucks and painstakingly rebuilt to create the luxury suite.
