Looking for some fresh new music? Here are all the new album release dates for July that you really need to know about. Featuring Haim, Lana Del Rey, Dizzy Rascal, Arcade Fire and more.
Haim – Something To Tell You – July 7th sees the long awaited second album from all-girl LA Rock band Haim. The first album Days Are Gone from sisters Este, Danielle, Alana, and drummer Dash Hutton brought a number 1 spot in the UK charts, adding pressure to the already infamous ‘second album syndrome’. The 11 track album features a studio version of the previously released live track Days Are Gone, and has already spawned it’s first single Want You Back, which you can see below.
Lucy Rose – Something’s Changing – Since her debut album in 2012 Lucy Rose has gone from strength to strength, with increasingly strong tours, supporting slots, and mainstream airplay. This 11-track record that comes out on July 7th will be accompanied by a documentary film that charts the unusual way the material was sculpted, as she took her guitar on a trip across South and Central America, writing songs as she travelled. The first single ‘Floral Dresses’ Has already been released.
Dizzee Rascal – Raskit – With his last 4 albums all going into the UK top 10, big things are expected from Dizzee Rascal’s new album Raskit when it arrives on July 21st. It promises to be a return to pure rap with utilising the experience of Dizzee's 15 year long career…“The idea of trying to be my 17 year old self again just because everyone thinks grime’s landed in their lap this week didn’t satisfy me”, Dizzee explains. “I wanted to use what I’ve learned to make the best rap album I could, with no hands in the air moments, just using as much English slang as I could over the best beats I could find”. With a whopping 16 tracks the first single ‘Space’ has already been released.
Lana Del Rey – Lust For Life – Released on the 21st July this will be the fifth studio album from the American singer, with 2 of the previous 4 going to number 1 in the UK, and another number 2. Del Rey has described the album as ‘more socially aware’, so make of that what you will, but we have most likely already been given a taste of what we can expect on it, as 2 tracks have already been released from it, with ‘Love’ released in January, and ‘Lust For Life’ released in April which featured the singer The Weekend.
Arcade Fire – Everything Now – Canadian rock band Arcade Fire are set to release their fifth studio album on 28th July. The album called Everything Now – which bizarrely also features 3 tracks on it called Everything Now – is the follow up to back-to-back number 1 albums in 2010 and 2013. There are also 2 tracks called Infinite Content – which also happens to be the name of their World Tour. Lead singer Win Butler commented on the album… “There’s sort of an everything-nowness to life. I feel like almost every event and everything that happens surrounds you on all sides,” he says, “It’s trying to capture some of the experiences of being alive now in all its flaws and all its glory.”.
Alice Cooper – Paranormal – The Godfather Of Shock Rock is back with his 26th studio album (37th if you include live albums). To be released on July 28th the 10-track album (which also comes with a 6-track bonus cd) features an assortment of famous friends including U2’s Larry Mullen Jr, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, and Deep Purple’s Roger Glover. The first single to come from it is Paranoiac Personality, and if you think that he is a has-been then think again, as his last album debuted at number 7 in the UK charts.
