When a skyscraper catches fire former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Sawyer finds himself framed for it. Now a wanted man, he must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who are trapped inside the building.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson stars as former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Sawyer, who now assesses security for skyscrapers.
On assignment in China he finds himself staying with his family in ‘The Pearl’; the tallest, and apparently safest building in the world. When, however Sawyer raises concerns to his bosses about the security of the building they aren’t taken seriously with them insisting the building is impenetrable.
True to his belief the building comes under attack by terrorists, and worse is to follow when the building is suddenly set ablaze all the fingers point at him. Now a wanted man on the run, he must find those responsible, clear his name and somehow rescue his family who are still trapped inside the building.
Also staring Neve Campbell as Johnson’s wife, it was written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber the 3D action-thriller is produced by Beau Flynn, Johnson, Thurber and Hiram Garcia. Skyscraper’s executive producers are Dany Garcia, Wendy Jacobson, Eric Hedayat and Eric McLeod.
The film will be released by Universal Pictures on July 12th in the UK, but for now take a look at the trailer below.
