To whet your appetite for the much anticipated Trainspotting 2 hitting the cinemas later this month, the original 1996 cult-classic movie will return to the big screen across the country for 1 night only on January 17th. Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a family. Choose 2 Trainspotting films in less than a fortnight.
The original movie, documented the lives of - Renton, Spud, Begbie, and Sick Boy - a group of heroin addicts in Edinburgh in the 1980s, was one of the defining films of its generation, and still makes for compelling viewing more than 20 years on. The sequel, which brings us a glimpse of what life is like for the main protagonists two decades on, is already shaping up to be one of the biggest hits of 2017, and has a release date of January 27th.
All the original main cast, including Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Robert Carlyle and Jonny Lee Miller, have teamed up with Danny Boyle, the director of the first film, to make a follow-up to the hit film based on Irvine Welsh's novel.
